- Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) antigens, also know in human as human leukocyte antigens (HLA), are encoded by genes located on the short arm of chromosome 6 (6p21.3). MHC classⅠmolecules (HLA-A, -B and -C) are polymorphic membrane glycoproteins composed of two polypeptide chains, a heavy alpha chain encoded by variant HLA-A, -B or -C gene and a smaller beta chain (β2-microglobulin). They are peptide-binding proteins that present processed antigens to T lymphocytes. This ELISA kit (KE00035) can be used in the measurement of HLA-A, -B and -C in biological samples.
